Effective Employee/Employer Based Return to Work Programs objectively supported with an approach that assures success in productivity and safety.

ERGONOMIC ASSESSMENTS:
Encompassing all facets of a specific job environment by collecting objective data to make appropriate recommendations. Moving Towards Wellness Ltd. Consultants use a standardized method to quantify work and determine how to best design the physical environment relative to the human interaction to reduce occupational hazard and to maximize human productivity and performance. Components of the human factors design include physiological, biomechanical, mental and cognitive approaches to any one particular workstation or job. By providing this information, it assists in design improvement in order to reduce demand on human interface to enhance productivity.

FUNCTIONAL CAPACITY EVALUATION (FCE):
An FCE is designed to assess an individual’s ability to perform physical activities and vocational tasks safely. Results provide objective information of an individual’s abilities and limitations via tests combining: standardized procedures, work simulation and objective observation. Results are compared with a PDA (Physical Demands Analysis) of a particular job or work station. Goals of the FCE are to ensure the employer and employee know the physical demands of the essential job duties, and their safe abilities and physical limitations regarding return to work.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS ANALYSIS:
The subjective/objective data collection to analyze the specific physical and environmental demand of an individual workstation or position.

JOB SITE ANALYSIS:
Job Demands Analysis measures not only the physical elements of the job (PDA) but also includes biomechanical, physiological, environmental, cognitive and mental elements. Standardized and comprehensive documentation will assist in providing objective information for the individual referral need.

RETURN TO WORK PLAN, DESIGN AND IMPLEMENTATION:
Working closely to assure the most appropriate and successful plan can be implemented with consideration to all stakeholders.

CONSULTING WITH EMPLOYER AND UNIONS:
Co-ordinating with all parties to establish effective communication lines between all involved parties.

WORK READINESS PROGRAMS:
Real work in the Rural Community, if modified options are not available or in preparation to return to a pre-accident position.

JOB SHADOWING AND COACHING:
On-site supervision during the Return to Work schedule to assure success, provide immediate “troubleshooting” and direct communication to all stakeholders.

WORK HARDENING PROGRAMS:
Work specific, either on-site, within our facility or locally, to provide immediate exposure to the worker. (Industrial specific equipment used on and off site.) Huron County and Area: Working closing with the Maitland Recreation Centre, Goderich YMCA.

ON-SITE INJURY PREVENTION PROGRAMS AND TRAINING:

Education to assure Health and Safety. Please refer to Training and Education Workshop/Programs for a list of offerings that can be provided on site.

ON-SITE EXERCISE THERAPY:
Established before or after shift, or during breaks with an educational component to assist in creating new attitudes and interest in employee Health and Safety.

SCHOOL ASSESSMENTS:
Return to School Assistance is available through tutoring, follow up and monitoring throughout the school day; providing appropriate services and co-ordinating with our local Boards of Education.

Kinesiologist, Ergonomic Consultant & Rehabilitation Therapist available to assist in Return to Work Programs, Situational Assessments and Environments, as well as Active and Supervised Rehabilitation Programs for both Acquired Brain and Spinal Cord Injury clients.
